Author Spotlight: Yecheilyah Ysrayl
My Author Interview with Dottie Daniels.
Hey.
Here’s another author (she’s a poet as well) who also has a page here on WordPress. I consider myself and anyone else aware of her to be pretty lucky already as this author has a pretty powerful perspective and is more than capable of articulating her experiences and thought processes as it relates to the cultural upbringing of the African American experience. Her name is Yecheilyah Ysrayl and I had the pleasure of doing a Q&A session with her a few weeks ago. Below is the interview along with her social media contact info.
- I’ve read you were born in the South side of Chicago (so was I!), what were some of your earliest memories?
Hi Dottie. First, I want to thank you for taking the time to meet with me today. Yes, I am from Chi-Town indeed. Since I’ve been in Chicago for the better part of my…

Welcome Russia
So as everyone whose probably tired of these posts by now already know, I am showing love to all my viewers who I see stop through to peek at this blog who are from other countries outside the U.S. It is something I don’t think is done very often, and not too long ago I saw a view come in from Russia! Welcome Russia! Do come Again.

Nigeria and Pakistan
This week I am showing appreciation for my International Viewers. And being that I have residence in the U.S. that means any country outside America. It may seem small, but if you appreciate the little things you can be trusted with greater things. I by no means under appreciate any level of support.
So anyway, what’s up Nigeria and Pakistan! I saw you this morning. Thanks for scrolling through The PBS Blog. 🙂

The Versatile Blogger Award
There are a lot of good things happening today: we all woke up this morning, I’m still married to the most handsome man in town, the sun is shining beautifully in Louisiana, I’ll probably go home early (Ok, that’s stretching it), it is a good day though and…oh yea, we’ve been nominated for another blog award people :). (*Yay me* *small crowd goes wild*). Primarily, I would like to take this time to thank Lisa of the Rebirth of Lisa Blog for the nomination.
Here are the rules I think I plan on following this time (I think):
• Show the award on your blog. (check)
• Thank the person who nominated you. (check, check, check again 🙂 )
• Share seven facts about yourself. (Hmm…ok check)
• Nominate 15 blogs. (umm)
• Link your nominees’ blogs, and let them know. (check)
Now for the interesting part, 7 facts about myself. (I actually like the number 7 by the way, but shh, that don’t count, do over lol) here we go:
1. My name is Yecheilyah (e-see-lee-yah) but everyone calls me EC, you can too 🙂
2. I love children and I work with, teach, and tutor them outside of writing
3. I live in Louisiana but I’m originally from Chicago, south side
4. I have a twin sister
5. I love laughing, pasta, and I think ice cream is the best desert ever made
6. My favorite colors include anything with an earth tone feel (Green, Beige, Tan, Burnt Orange and especially Brown)
7. and I’m addicted to movie nights with the world’s best husband
Thanks again Lisa for the nomination and here are my nominees for the blogs I think qualify for the Versatile Blogger Award:
