YouTube: Subscribe for #Poetry #NationalPoetryMonth

Guess whose back on YouTube? Mee! Lol
It’s National Poetry Month and I am uploading audio videos of some of my poems to YouTube. I have taken them down from Soundcloud (as I am transitioning that page to an exclusive podcast page) and will be instead bringing them to YouTube. At this time I have five videos locked and loaded for you and will be adding more over time. So, if you would, please, welcome me back by subscribing to the channel and thanks so much for your support. (I’ve even done something I don’t usually do. I added hashtags to the headline. You see that? I’m being converted!)

Be sure to pick up your copy of I am Soul on Amazon here! A new review is in:
“The book is of discovery, healing and a slight political stance. It covers issues from simple being to issues of current affairs. It’s beautiful, soft and strong. From beginning to end the book is inspiring and reached into depths of my own inquisitive mind and soul.”

All or Nothing

I don’t know how to feel half-heartedly
how to passion
sparsely
how to love raindrops at a time.
I don’t know how to half
shine.
So I apologize.
I am sorry if my sun
burned your skin.
If I came in too hot
or if I am sometimes too cold
a forest of ice
and long blades of frozen grass
bowing under the weight
of bitter winds.
A breath of vapor
purple lips
and chattering teeth.
I promise you that this heart of stone
is really just flesh
learning to beat one pulse at a time
just don’t ask me to half
shine.
I don’t know how to feel half-heartedly
I cannot promise not to love you
dangerously
for I am all
or nothing.

Chris The Story Reading Ape's Blog
It’s been a long time. I miss you guys! But I will be returning real soon. Until then, I have news.
I am Soul is my latest collection of poetry and it released at the end of December but to be honest, I was never too fond of the cover. Good thing I’m an Independent Publisher! It’s never too late to improve and I can change whatever I want. That said I’d like to introduce you to the new cover image for I am Soul and it will be reflected online soon. (Keep in mind it will take some time to be reflected on Amazon and other retailers so you may still see the old cover.)
To celebrate, I am Soul will be on Sale for the ENTIRE month of February! That’s right, you can grab it for as low as $0.99 from now through the 28th and if…

First, Build Yourself

He starts first with himself”

Guilty

I vomit kindness from my gut
And I am overflowing
(drowning)
in compassion for people
who have none
for me.
Guilty
I let them swim here
for free.
