Is Anything Sacred Anymore?

Sometimes, I look at my people and wonder, is there anything we hold sacred?

If not our bodies, then what?

If not our history, then what?

If not our truths, then what?

If not our art, then what?

If not our relationships, then what?

If not the words we speak, then what?

To what do we hold sacred?

That is the question.

  1. As an elderly British person, I feel very sad that respect for everyone – and I mean EVERYONE, seems to be rationed. And where has common sense gone? Concerned… Peace and love.

    1. I understand what you are saying, though in this particular post I’m not talking to everyone, but mainly the Black/AFAM community.

I agree that common sense is far from common these days.

    1. It is a question that I hope will cause my people to think deeply about those things we have been taught to respect, cherish, and hold dear.

The sculpture is of the memorial of the 4 little girls who were killed by the 1963 bombing in Birmingham.
