Pay Attention

Don’t forget to clean up your environment. Pay attention to how being around certain people makes you feel. Do you suddenly feel drained or negative? Mad? Irritated? Are these people always complaining? Do they reach out to you just to share bad news? Is it always about them? Are they interested in your life at all?  Remember that we cannot grow in the same environment that broke us. Only surround yourself with people who lift you up, empower you and challenge you to become the best version of yourself.

  1. I LOVE this post. I have been trying to let people that are dearest to me, know that this is real. If you plan on becoming someone amazing, you have to step out of you comfort zone and experice better. When i first moved to Colorado, i made it my mission to leave all the negitivaty behind. That included family and friends. As i get older, i realize what was more important to me and making a differences and becoming a better person are the main things i strive for. Thanks so much for sharing!!!

    1. You’re welcome and thanks for sharing. I’ve been on a journey of self-reflection myself and one thing I learned is that the people we have around us has a great influence on our lives. I believe it was Steve Harvey who said that if you surround yourself with smokers you will eventually smoke and if you surround yourself with broke people you will be broke lol. If we want better we have to be around better.

      1. I absolutely agree with you. If you want better you have to surround yourself with better. By the way, I’m a big Steve Harvey fan. His journey inspires me because of what he’s been through, I been there as well. His recent book “Jump” is amazing and such an eye-opener.

        1. I knew I was being led to mention him for a reason! Lol. I am not much of a fan but I believe wisdom can be spoken through anyone so what I hear of value I try to remember. I’ll have to check out that book.

  2. Please do! It’s a self-help book and currently, at this time in my life, I NEED those books. 😊 I also agree with you, on anyone being able to produce wisdom. Over the years of me reading a variety of books, I learned a lot of wisdom from a lot of people. Once I’ve realized I wanted a better life, I was able to apply what I learned in my own life. It made me a better person and I’m glad that I was, and still am, open-minded to learn and discover new things.
